Update from Linda M. Brown, Medota Community:

Dear friends, wanted to let you know there was a mixup on the gag order, there is no gag order so go ahead and print my last update. Also just wanted to let you know some of our schedule for the next few weeks. We have meetings tomorrow with about five senators from Minnesota, we are still looking for a Author for the Bill. There is also a Lobby Day like we held last week scheduled for this Wed.

Also we have Elders coming to testfy before Joe Hudak, Chief Archaelologist, MNDOT, to help establish this area as a TCP. Meeting with the Head of the Fed. Highway Dept for this region. Also need any info anyone may have from books and other sources with source name, author, page number etc. that would establish this are as a TCP and Sacred site. We are still desparately trying to raise funds to keep the camp and our efforts going. We are down to our last pennies. Have had many sources tell us they will raise funds, but so far we haven't gotten these. There will be no work done on the area by MNDOT until after the Elders testify and MNDOT and the Feds do a study and make a decision about the area.{ they say about a month after the meeting} If it is found to be a TCP, that doesn't mean they won't build the road, only that Fed. funds may be withheld unless they change the current plans for the reroute, so we may still need to persue this in the courts. We need to use every tactic we can. Somedays I feel like this is the only thing happening on earth, because we spend so much time working on this. I know there are the same fights happening all over the country and world, and I do include them in my prayers as I know all of you do too. We just have to keep fighting, praying, writing and whatever else it's going to take until there is true justice in this world. Thanks to all of you for caring so much. Love and Prayers be with you all. Love Linda

P.S. Leo was down by City of Stillwater today and they are trying to take land for bulding a new bridge across the St. Croix river, one of these building is over a hundred years old and this was on a sign he saw there " Arguing with MNDOT is like wrestling with a pig, sooner or later you realize the pig enjoys it" ,
