Update from Linda Brown (04/25/99)
Dear Friends, As you may already know the bill that we had planned to attach the admendment to was not heard on the floor on Friday. This bill had it's second reading on Thrusday and it is normal for the bill to then be placed on general orders the next day. This is Senator Carol Flynn's bill and she may choose to have it voted on whenever she is ready. She apparently chose not to do this at this time. The bill may go to the floor anytime between now and May 17, so we must continue to strive to reach all the Senators of the state and ask for their support of this amendment. This amendment asks that the coldwater spring be designated and protected as Traditional Cultural Property. We are still waiting to hear from the state on the TCP report and we will let you know the outcome of this as soon as we know. peace and prayers, Love Linda
